Learning Chinese, especially on your own, can be a seriously confusing task. I hope that these resources I have designed for myself can be useful for you too. You can use them the way I recommend for them to be used in my blog posts, or you can change it to fit your own style of learning.

I'll start by explaining a little bit about why this is a useful technique, and how you can do it yourself. Why this helps you! Watching TV in Chinese both improves your listening abilities and helps to get you used to real life sentence structures you wouldn't find in a text book. Certain phrases can only truly be grasped by seeing them in context. These shows also shed light on Chinese popular culture, which can make you feel more connected to your learning. When I went to China, recognising all the actors on posters made me feel linked to the country and inspired me to keep working hard. Protecting the Environment - 环境保护

It is a really good topic to learn about in Chinese as you can use lots of grammar structures and high-level vocabulary. This will be especially useful for any students taking exams, for example GCSE's. Here are some examples: 1. 越来越 空气污染越来越严重了，特别是在大城市。 Air pollution is becoming more and more serious, especially in big cities. 越来越 is really useful when describing change over time, and can improve a students grammar as it cannot be directly translated into English. 2. 少 VS 多 and 为了 为了保护环境，人们应该少吃肉，多吃蔬菜。 In order to protect the environment, people should each less meat and eat more vegetables. 少 and 多 are so useful when describing more or less of something. In this situation, we can use them to describe the need for someone to do more or less of that thing. 为了 is a very useful word meaning "in order to do something"....

My Trip to Beijing - 我的北京旅行

I will try to explain my experience a little, and finish by talking about why I think it is such a good idea if you have the opportunity. Everyone knows that the best way to learn a language is to visit the target language’s country yourself. Being 16, I didn’t have the option to just pack my bags and move, but I was still able to receive a huge boost in my Mandarin by spending two weeks of my summer in Beijing. I attended a That’s Mandarin summer camp, and had one of the best times of my life. It was so great to connect with other people my age learning Chinese. Our teachers pushed us to learn loads, and spoke to us most of the time in Chinese. I chose the intensive course, meaning that I had 6 hours of lessons a day.
